Looking for a South African shop Brisbane has to offer? Here is the short answer. The shops that run proper counters sit on the north side (North Lakes and Strathpine), the south side (Loganholme) and out on the Scenic Rim (Beaudesert). Plenty of other biltong sellers list a Brisbane address, but not all of them could be confirmed on their own websites this week. Those are named further down, in a “still checking” section, so you do not drive across town to a locked roller door.
Every address, phone number and trading time in the list below was checked on the shop’s own website on 7 October 2026. Shops change their hours without telling anyone, so ring ahead before a long drive. South African shop Brisbane north side, and Moreton Bay
Springbok Foods, North Lakes. Unit 3A, 6 Sibley Street, North Lakes QLD 4509. Phone (07) 3491 9777. Monday to Friday 9am to 5.30pm, Saturday 9am to 5pm, Sunday 9am to 4.30pm. This is the easiest stop for anyone north of the river, and it is open on Sundays, which matters when your braai is on Saturday night and you forgot the wors. Springbok makes its own biltong, droëwors (the thin, dry, spiced sausage you snack on) and boerewors, and it also sells the grocery staples. Its website does not say whether the wors in the shop is fresh or frozen, so ask at the counter.
Steyns Biltong and Jerky, Strathpine. Shop 10, Strathpine Plaza, 445-451 Gympie Road, Strathpine QLD 4500, next to the IGA. Their site lists 0412 209 351 as the contact number. Monday to Saturday 9am to 5pm, Sunday 10am to 4pm. Steyns says its biltong, droëwors, cabanossi and stokkies (thin biltong sticks) are made locally, and the shop also stocks South African groceries, koeksisters (the sticky, plaited, syrup-soaked doughnuts), boerewors and charcoal. That last one is handy: you can buy the meat and the fuel in one stop.
Southern Brisbane and Logan
Springbok Foods, Loganholme. Shop 5, 1 Bryants Road, Loganholme QLD 4129. Phone (07) 3171 2271. Monday to Friday 9am to 5.30pm, Saturday 9am to 5pm, Sunday 9.30am to 4.30pm. Same range as North Lakes, so this is the South African shop Brisbane’s southern suburbs will want to use if you live south of the river or down towards the Gold Coast. If you are heading to the Gold Coast anyway, the same company also has shops at Oxenford and Burleigh.
Scenic Rim and the hinterland
QLD Biltong, Beaudesert. 15 William Street, Beaudesert QLD 4285. Phone 0450 024 307. The website does not list opening hours, so ring before you go. QLD Biltong also runs a kiosk at Kiosk 5, 161 Long Road, Tamborine Mountain QLD 4272. It sells wet and fatty biltong, venison biltong, stokkies, kangaroo biltong and droëwors. This one is a biltong specialist rather than a grocery shop, so do not expect rusks or chutney on the shelf.
What each shop is good for
A quick guide, so you pick the right shop for the job:
- A full braai shop in one trip: Springbok North Lakes or Loganholme, or Steyns at Strathpine.
- Charcoal and wors together: Steyns at Strathpine.
- Sunday shopping: all three of the shops above are open on Sundays, with Steyns opening an hour later at 10am.
- Biltong only, with some choice: QLD Biltong, especially if you want venison or kangaroo.

Sunshine Coast and the Gold Coast
You do not have to cross the whole city. On the Sunshine Coast, Springbok Foods has shops at Forest Glen and Noosaville, and Steyns has one at Maroochydore. On the Gold Coast, Springbok has Burleigh and Oxenford. The Gold Coast gets its own page soon.
Online delivery to Brisbane
If the nearest shop is a long drive away, three of these businesses ship. Springbok Foods sells online across Australia, with shipping worked out at checkout. Steyns ships Australia-wide with Australia Post Express satchels, usually arriving one to two business days after dispatch, and it asks you to allow one to four business days for packing because items occasionally sell out. QLD Biltong advertises flat-rate shipping Australia-wide, and lets you choose delivery or pickup. Tracking is through Australia Post when a parcel travels that way.

These Brisbane names turn up in directories, but we could not confirm their details on their own websites this week, so they are not in the list above. We have not guessed.
- The Biltong and Jerky Shop, listed at Moorooka, Enoggera and Kenmore. Their website did not give us store details.
- The Jerky Hut, listed at Kallangur and Wynnum. Its website showed a suspended-account notice when we checked.
- Your Biltong Buddy. Its website says customers in Boondall can pick up from the store Tuesday to Sunday, but it publishes no street address or hours.
- South African Online Shop, with a Sumner Park address on its website but no opening hours, and no word on whether you can walk in.
