South African shops in Perth: Cape to Cairo, Mufasa and the rest

Looking for a South African shop Perth can offer? Here is the short answer. The two names to start with are Cape to Cairo in Osborne Park, which runs a proper South African grocery shop, and D.Jays Gourmet in Malaga, which makes fresh boerewors (the coiled South African farm sausage) and sells it for pick-up. Mufasa Biltong sits up north at Currambine, and Impala Foods is south-east in Armadale. Perth is not short of options, but the shops do very different jobs, so it pays to pick the right one.

The details below come from each shop’s own website, checked on 18 October 2026. Where a shop does not publish its opening hours, we say so rather than guess. Shops change their hours without telling anyone, so ring ahead before a long drive. Our national directory of South African shops in Australia is the hub; this page goes deeper on Perth.

South African shop Perth: the north and the city

Cape to Cairo, Osborne Park. Unit 1, 38 Sarich Court, Osborne Park WA 6017. Phone (08) 9204 5666. The Osborne Park listing gives Monday to Wednesday 9am to 5pm, Thursday 9am to 6pm, Friday 9am to 5pm, Saturday 9am to 4pm, and closed on Sunday. This is the grocery stop: South African foods, biltong and a wide range of brands. Cape to Cairo also supplies independent shops and restaurants across WA, which tells you it moves real volume. Its main website does not show store hours, so a quick phone call before you go is sensible. It also sells online, with its goods described as made in WA, at capetocairo.com.au.

Mufasa Biltong, Currambine. 3/10 Chesapeake Way, Currambine WA 6028. Phone (08) 9305 4631. Mufasa makes biltong, droëwors (the thin, dry, spiced sausage you snack on) and chutney wheels, and its website also mentions boerewors, steaks and South African groceries. Its site lists six Perth-area stores: Currambine, Perth CBD, Wangara, Canning Vale, Clarkson and Alkimos. It does not publish opening hours or the street addresses for the other five, so only Currambine is confirmed here. Ring first.

The Jerky Co, Wangara and Perth City. The head office and factory is at 2 Uppill Place, Wangara WA 6065, phone (08) 9303 2671. It also has a Perth City store and more than a dozen kiosks in shopping centres, including Perth Airport. The Jerky Co makes biltong, but this is a snack shop, not a braai shop. Do not expect wors, rusks or chutney. Opening hours are not on its main page.

Boerewors and groceries, east and south

D.Jays Gourmet, Malaga. 22 Midas Road, Malaga WA 6090. Phone (08) 9248 8277. Monday to Wednesday 7.30am to 4.30pm, Thursday and Friday 7.30am to 3.30pm, closed on weekends and public holidays. D.Jays makes its boerewors in Perth, in a traditional and a spicy version. The website says it is for pick-up orders only, so phone the team and collect from the Malaga store. That makes it the best answer if you want fresh wors rather than frozen, but the weekend closure matters: collect on the Friday for a Saturday braai.

Impala Foods, Armadale. 89c Jull Street, Armadale WA. Phone 0432 549 031. The website does not list opening hours. Impala stocks South African groceries and homemade food, including biltong, boerewors, droëwors, milk tart, koeksisters (the sticky, plaited, syrup-soaked doughnuts), Ouma’s rusks and maize meal. Boerewors can be pre-ordered and is ready for pick-up on Saturday mornings, which is exactly when you want it. Order it by email or through the online shop.

What each shop is good for

A quick guide, so you pick the right South African shop Perth has for the job:

  • A full grocery run in one trip: Cape to Cairo at Osborne Park, or Impala Foods at Armadale.
  • Fresh boerewors for the weekend: D.Jays in Malaga (collect by Friday) or Impala (pre-order, collect Saturday morning).
  • Biltong and droëwors only: Mufasa in Currambine, with The Jerky Co for a snack on the go.
  • Sunday shopping: none of the confirmed shops lists Sunday trading, so plan ahead.

Online delivery to Perth and the rest of WA

If the nearest shop is a long drive away, several of these businesses ship. Cape to Cairo and Mufasa both sell online across Australia. The Jerky Co says it ships anywhere in Australia, with free shipping on orders of $150 or more. Their websites do not spell out delivery times for small orders, so check at checkout. Parcels that travel by post can be tracked through Australia Post.

If you live outside WA and want a Perth-made product posted to you, or you are bringing meat products into WA from another state, check the rules first. The WA Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development says quarantine risk material must be declared to a Quarantine Inspector on arrival, and its page on bringing goods into WA sends you to Quarantine WA on +61 (0)8 9334 1800 for meat questions. Its page does not mention biltong or sausage by name, so phone them.

Once you have your wors, our guide to how to braai boerewors takes you from coil to coals. And if the shop has run out of something, our South African ingredient substitutes guide covers the supermarket swaps.
